Time passes so quickly and as parents we find every excuse under the sun for not having a professional photograph taken with your family - why? the list can be endless but if you want to know common excuses, they could range from having a bad hair day, wanting to loose weight or feeling awkward in the studio. The thing is in 20, 30, 40 years time your children really don't care if you are having a bad hair day or need to loose a pound or two - you are their parents!! the ones they love regardless. So many family photographs are now taken on mobiles, it makes my heart weep to think of all those treasured memories lost - lets face it in 20 years time, you are not going to have those photographs are you?

Baby's First Year's Programme

This programme is perfect for those of you with a newborn baby

The first year's of your baby's life are truly an amazing time. The changes they make from being a babe in arms to charging about your home and getting into mischief are incredible. (Just wait until they reach the terrible two's!)

The baby's first years programme is a wonderful scheme that allows you to access three professional portrait sittings and key times over your child's first 18 months and receive a beautiful triple frame at the end of it.

Each session is designed for us to create beautiful images of your child. To help make the most of your session we encourage you to bring along many changes of clothes, hats, toys and dressing up clothes.

Our Lancashire based studio is perfect for your family and we have plenty of props for your you to utilise.

Session One
With newborns its nice for them to be held an a natural pose by one of their parents. This may be skin to skin contact that will show the gentle nurturing nature needed for your baby this age. If your baby has gone past the tiny newborn stage, we advise that you then book your session when they are getting stronger with their head so we can capture their first smiles straight at the camera. We can discuss all the options during the pre-portrait consultation.

Session Two
Takes place when your baby can sit un-aided, without wobbles. This session is designed to capture the joy and happiness your baby brings to your life and must take place before your baby's first birthday. We often do a trash the cake to celebrate their first year. It's very messy but great fun and we will spend a lot of time laughing as your little on covers themselves from top to toe in sticky cake.

Here we are looking for little chubby arms and legs, so think about buying nappy covers (as nothing looks worse than branded nappies on an image). This session is very playful so be sure to bring their favorite things.

Session Three
This session will take place when your child can confidently walk and must be done around 16/18 months. This rough and tumble, playful session can be sometimes the most challenging of them all - we all know how stubborn children can be. My advice to you is not to worry there is nothing in the studio that can break and if there is, we can remove it. It the mischief in their eyes I am looking for, so don't worry, let them enjoy the session.

As parents you are more than welcome to have a family photograph at any of these sessions, just let me know before hand.

After the Session
After each session we will work on your photographs and produce a beautiful range of images that will make your heart melt. The images will consist of only the very best from your sitting and will include some truely special fine art work. You will then be invited back to the studio for your viewing. At this time you make your selection to be reserved for your complimentary, triple frame which you receive at the end of the programme and purchase any additional prints you require from this session.

We never do hard sell and we pride ourselves that the images will sell themselves. We have a great range of products for all the family and we are happy to discuss likely spend with you at your pre-portrait consultation. We strongly advise you that you bring parents and grandparents to your viewing as you will be spoilt for choice and may need some assistance in choosing.

Baby's First Years

This was a particularly great photoshoot for me. I have photographed Emma and Andy over a couple of years right from their wedding.

These two pictures are some of my all time favorites, I just love it when parents get involved in a shoot - tbh I am becoming more passionate about this every time I work with a family.

These pictures are so special and can never be taken again - I just wish I had done this with my children.
